What's next for Erasmus+?
The Erasmus+ Programme 2021-2027 will have a similar structure and objectives to that of Erasmus+ 2014-2020, that is:
- Education and training: the promotion of learning mobility of individuals and groups
- Youth: the promotion of non-formal and informal learning mobility and active participation among young people
- Sports: the promotion of learning mobility of sport staff
With the new Erasmus+ 2021-2027, the EU plans to facilitate the participation of smaller organisations and people with fewer opportunities. The Programme will also focus on digitalization and accreditations.
The new Erasmus+ will also contribute to the achievement of the EU’s climate spending targets and reduce its own environmental footprint, i.e., by promoting climate-friendly means of transportation for beneficiaries. The programme will also be simpler and more manageable, thanks to better and more user-friendly IT systems and less paperwork.
